New custom jigsaw available
28th May 2025
A new customised jigsaw is now available of, and from Felicity's Farm Shop, Morecombelake, here in West Dorset. Those that know the farm shop will know that it has the most wonderful views to enjoy, and I did a painting of the seniors enjoying a cuppa and cake, while Charlie biscuit sampled the fresh produce, from the garden/seating area at the back of the shop...
So, if you're in the area, pop in, grab a drink, bite and some local produce, and perhaps a jigsaw, or card, as a momento...
Dorset arts weeks
25th April 2024
This year, for the first time, I am exhibiting at The Red Lion in Beaminster from the 25th May during Dorset Arts Weeks...

My work is already on show at The Red Lion...but I will be bringing along some new work...including affordable cards and prints...

So, if you are in the area, pop in...have a browse at the art by myself and other artists, and enjoy the hospitality of Bryan and his team...
New ideas and new locations
17th July 2023
I was invited to send the seniors to the North East (UK), and how could I say no?
They enjoyed their trip...visiting places such as High Force, and of course the Angel of the North...and a couple of other stops too....with any luck they'll be visiting more places in the near future...
On their way back they've been sightseeing in London too...and are presently taking a look at No.10...

All these new paintings will be added to this website, as well as Facebook and Instagram...

If anyone has any ideas where to send them in the future...locations around the UK (preferable to the bin 😂) please feel free to let me know and I'll help them pack the caravan for another gentle adventure...
That's Xmas 2023 covered
11th June 2023
Today I completed my '23 Xmas image which will be available sometime at the end of summer...cards and prints will become available too....just what anyone wants to hear when we are not half way through June....how organised am I, I hear you ask?

I can say that this has not been an easy task, as the sun has been blazing outside...and my attention has been drifting to the plants wilting in the garden...and the glory of summer and the coast and countryside...what a busy mind I have..and trying to keep it focussed can be challenging.

I am getting better organised as an artist....which is a bit of an oxymoron....but as I am looking forward to having my paintings, prints and cards available in a 3rd gallery soon...I must practice being more organised..noting where things are, and making sure that records are kept...proper like.

I'll update when the new stuff is in the new gallery...and will now turn my attention to some small sculptural dogs which I have been working on for a while between all the other stuff I've been working on...one day I'd like to do a course in clay sculpture...one day...
New commission finished..now for ideas for Xmas...yikes!!!
07th August 2022
Another commission is completed, and will be heading for collection this coming week. It has taken around 3 months from start to finish and has kept me busy through the heatwave.
Now I move forward and am revisiting a painting I started pre COVID....I think it will be months before it is ready for public view....and I must now start thinking about an image for Xmas 22!!!
It is rather odd to be sitting in glorious warm sunshine and trying to create Christmas....although I'm sure shops are already ready in their planning and ordering.
I took my sketchbook with me yesterday, and it will be in my bag as I prepare myself for a busy Autumn and winter in my workroom/studio completing work for the galleries for 2023..
Studio update
28th April 2022
It's been an odd couple of years, hasn't it? However, I've been lucky to have been kept busy.
I am working on a new commission for a private client...a big and busy family group...
I have also been taken out of my comfort zone as I was asked to paint a sculptural dog as part of Paws Around Exeter on behalf of Ferne Animal Sanctuary. These dogs will be heading to Exeter soon and will be on display around the city.
If I can upload some pictures I will....my tech skills are not improving much.
The book is now available on Amazon...please take a look...
Book
14th July 2020
About time I updated this....sorry if you looked and saw 'blah, blah,blah....that was supposed to be a prompt for me to get on and introduce this book to you.
For people who look out for the little white dog i n my paintings...I thought he deserved to take centre stage...and here he is...illustrated by me (of course), words by John (hubby) and editing and all the real hard work by Kirsty Fairbairn (patience personified).
This is now available on Amazon...to find it just type in Trai Hiscock, and it should appear!?!
I would love to put together another book...but whether my collaborators can be persuaded....the jury's out 😃

Today in the studio...
09th July 2020
Today I have been working on animations. These two are at various stages of completion...they take hours and hours, and repeated corrections to iron out as many wobbles and bumps as I can and wish to iron out.

I have always adored animations, and have a renewed respect for animators both past and present.
As a youngster I loved the animations and probably the narration of Rhubarb and Custard who wobbled endlessly on the TV screen. So while creating my short animated versions of characters I have been long painting, I have forgiven myself for not being 'perfect'. I hope I don't offend those who animate for a living, but these are mine and I hope you will love the finished product, as much as I have enjoyed bringing my paintings and characters to life.

Please bear in mind these are works in progress
